This is your time.  Escape from everyday life.

Take some time for creativity and self-exploration.

Bring images that you’ve been wanting to make into cards or dig through my ever growing stash of images.

Theme:  Burning Woman

Come explore the Burning Woman archetype as described by Lucy H. Pearce in her book Burning Woman.

“This incendiary text was written for women who burn with passion, have been burned with shame, and who at another time, in another place, would have been burned at the stake.”

Burning Woman is the inner burn we feel. She is the passion and the power of the deep dark divine feminine.

“Burning Woman is a powerful image. A role model. A metaphor. A warning. She is Feminine power incarnate.”

She is the outer burn we know deep in our bones. She is the shame of being woman. She is the dishonor (and much worse) of women who followed their passions and sought their power.

“The patriarchal system has chosen to dominate and subdue the women who show signs of it through shaming, branding, naming, ostracising, traumatising, raping, medicating…and burning.”

Timing:

We’ll explore this theme for the first 1/2 hour or so.  It is not necessary to have read the book.

Then you will be free to make whatever cards you are drawn to make regardless of whether they relate to today’s theme. We’ll finish by reading our cards.

You will get:

  • 3 blank cards (additional cards are available to purchase)
  • Time and space to make cards in a studio environment with all materials set up and easily accessible
  • An opportunity to deepen into your experience of SoulCollage® through exploration of the theme
  • Guidance in reading your cards
  • A lovely 3 hours spent with like-minded women (and sometimes very special men)

Prerequisite:  Prior experience with SoulCollage® (at least having made one card). I’ll be available for questions but this does not include a formal introduction to SoulCollage®.

This event is being offered following the morning “Discover SoulCollage®” workshop. If you are new to SoulCollage® and would like to attend the Open Studio, please also register for this morning introductory workshop.

Facilitated by:  Cheryl Kempton
